I'll risk to be the odd one here because, I have seen a lot of the 2010 version of McDanno, I guess I'm doing the 60s versions then. All characters are owned by the originals of the series and so own.

In 1967, two friends Annie and Andy run away from their suburb in Arizona to Haight-Ashbury in California to join the hippie scene. They meet incredible people who share their interests and similar feelings, while under the influence of music, art, and psychedelic drugs. However, after the Summer of Love, reality starts to kick in and everyone at the apartment begins to realize what is going in the US. These group of friends experience life from a certain perspective, and come to terms with their demons.

I got no one." My words could barely make it past my lips. My soft pair of lips trembled out of pity, and of worry for my best friend. I shook my head in negligence at his claim. "You're wrong. You got us," I grabbed his calloused hands, which were twice the size of mine. "We're a family too."
